What happens to the things you type into OpenDebate.
You don't register or give us an email address. Your browser keeps a random session cookie so you can come back to your rooms as the same person.
Room links are long and hard to guess, but anyone who has a link can open that room. The creator can close a room, or replace its link so the old one stops working.
A display name is just a label someone typed. It doesn't prove who they are.
Messages are saved on our servers so conversations survive page reloads and can be continued later. The people running this service can access stored data.
Connections use HTTPS in production, but messages aren't end-to-end encrypted. Don't share passwords, ID numbers or other sensitive personal information.
We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, and record when a room is created or a fact-check is requested (in PostHog). These counts never include names, messages or room links.
